Pressure Activated Equalising Valve:

PA-EV

The Omega Pressure Activated Equalising Valve (PA-EV) allows plugged wells to be equalised or brought on to production without the requirement of intervention.

Unlike mechanical devices which require multiple cycles or overpressure, the onboard electronics monitor ambient pressure and pressure changes for a control signal. This signal can be modified at the wellsite prior to running. Recognition of the signal results in tool opening regardless of overbalance or underbalance.

Alternatively, the tool may be programmed to open on a specific date and time without any signal. The PA-EV may be utilised in a suspended well and opened many months after installation. It also has applications when running sub sea completions as a temporary barrier. Installed below a lock, bridge plug or packer.

With very few parts and a rugged design, no special consideration need be given to storage, handling or operation of the device.
